We all have a birth date and a death date, but what about the dash in between? I believe our birth date and our date we die has already been determined. We only have control of how we live the dash in the middle.
This does not mean we have total control of everything that happens to us in our dash. It means we have control over how we react to what happens and whether we become better or bitter. Every experience we have during our lifetime is meant to guide us to our purpose and teach us lessons along the way. I can say with great certainty I have not learned from every experience, but that does not stop me from trying to be the best me I can be. I try to be a better version of myself every day. Some days I am more successful than others. I continue to struggle with weight and arthritis each day, but I maintain a positive attitude and I am grateful for all the blessings in my life.
How do you know you are living your purpose? I believe it is when you feel contentment, gratitude and true happiness in your surroundings and what you are doing. We have been led to believe our purpose should be something grand. Some of us are called upon for larger than life purpose, i. e. Oprah Winfrey, but I think most of us are called upon to make a difference in much smaller ways. When I look back at my youth I realize I was being prepared for where I am today. I have two special men in my life and I believe I was meant to be in their lives for love and healing. I feel gratitude and blessings every day. I am truly happy in my life right where I am and could not ask for anything more.
My birth date was January 17, 1959 (dash)- TBD. How are you living your dash? When you leave this earth, how do you want to be remembered in that dash?
